Spare a thought for the farmers

Spare a thought for the farmers
We can learn a lot from nature. The beautiful spring with its verdant greenery and blossoming plants, also, bring tears in the form of dew drops.

Those living in luxurious mansions, enjoying ostentatious food do so at the cost of many serving them, day in day out. This dominance of one human being on the other filters through to the lower levels, too. For example, food on our table comes by the toil and sweat of farmers, who, themselves, sometimes, go hungry.

When partying, high on spirits, indulging in rich, often unhealthy food, please do have a sobering thought for the millions struggling to scrape a bare living: nurture a mindset to adjust, share and serve. This is real socialism, consideration and compassion for all our fellow human beings & other God’s creatures.

Whilst millions live in effortless luxury, millions toil & sweat to scrape a living.

Often one’s gain is another’s loss. Ambition, often, overrides the impact it may have on people around you. There’s no harm in seeking ambition, success or wealth, but don’t forget the noble cornerstone of Guru Nanak’s teachings, share your good fortune with others.

We see that, even in nature if one aspect flourishes another may suffer …. blossom & dew drops go together, autumn brings pat-jharr, leaving trees bare of their verdure glory.

At weddings, on traditional vidai, we see the bride’s side shedding tears as the groom’s family rejoices, although, many joke, the roles these days, are reversing. We also see in games and sports, whilst the victor rejoices, the vanquished is on his knees shedding tears. It appears to be the law of nature that one’s joy is often another’s misery. The whole concept of humanity is to correct this imbalance, for the blessed to help the less fortunate.

Fulfilling your ambition at all costs is a selfish and a negative aspect of human nature. When the heart overrides the mind and good sense, something will give. Ask yourself: is it worth the desire you seek?
