FAITH
Faith is not about rituals and traditions. It may be perceived by the heart but it must withstand the analysis of the mind. Often the two are out of sync.
The heart is meant to respond to both goods and bad deeds. Occasionally it feels the compassion for the unfortunate and reflects on its own good fortune. A feeling of gratitude to God fills it with warm devotion.
Faith is not really blind. We don’t only see with the physical eyes. Faith is perceived by the inner eyes too. There are certain aspects of our lives which the naked eyes cannot see or perceive. They are often felt by the passionate heart and then analysed and filtered with the discerning mind (vivek buddhi). This is only possible when we de-mesmerise ourselves from the outer world and occasionally listen to the voice within.

FOCUS WITHIN (Self-defense mechanism)
Our best friend and worst enemy lie within.
The five thieves rob us day and night whilst we fight the outside world to accumulate wealth. We need to protect us from ourselves and the best friend (universal consciousness) within will assist us to this end.
So cut out the daily grind and listen to your inner voice. Focus on the hidden potential and unfold the treasures within.
Look within and you might surprise yourself.
Self awareness: The glamour of the outside world will carry you further and further away from your ‘mool’ (quintessence self)

MAYA’S SWAMP
Maya is akin to a swamp. We wander in life aimlessly. There is a danger that sooner or later, we will walk into this bog of maya. Just as a jeev (human or animal) is swallowed up by the swamp, a human being without the armour of God’s Name will die spiritually; only the awakened (spiritually aware) will re-emerge from the swamp, as does the lotus.
Stand firm in the swamp of maya like the lotus, unsoiled, unaffected by the mire and filth surrounding it.
