ਬਾਬਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
O Lord, only he, upon whom You bestow spiritual bliss, receives it.
ਪਾਵੈ ਤ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਹੋਰਿ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਵੇਚਾਰਿਆ ॥
He alone is graced with bliss upon whom You bestow it. Else, what can the poor mortal do?
ਇਕਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਇਕਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
There is the one who, in duality, wanders in ten directions; and then there is he, who when attached to Naam (Name), is adorned with spiritual wisdom.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਜਿਨਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਭਾਵਏ ॥
The minds of those who bow to Your Will (O Lord) are purified with their Guru’s Blessings.
ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਵਏ ॥੮॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 918}
Says Nanak, O Beloved Lord, only he upon whom You bestow Your Grace receives it.
